The one-day preparation course and the Category B Skipper exam (held in Croatia) take place over two days.

You’ll receive our course script by email in advance. Our experienced skipper – practically born at sea – will guide you through a hands-on training session to build your confidence at the helm (and reassure us too!). We’ll take care of all the paperwork and register you for the exam at the Master’s Office in Pula.

The B Skipper Course is designed according to the official exam program and covers:

• Maritime Navigation – nautical charts, chart reading, coordinates, course and distance plotting, coastal navigation, compass use, navigation manuals, and electronic instruments.

• Engine & Safety – internal combustion engines, engine systems, fire safety procedures, pollution prevention.

• Regulations & Meteorology – maritime laws, weather principles.

• Boat Handling – types of boats, stability, equipment, ropes and knots, safety at sea, docking, setting sail, anchoring, first aid.

• Collision Avoidance Rules – navigation lights, day shapes, sound and danger signals, maneuvering under sail and power.

• Radio Communication – VHF and VHF DSC radio, station documents, call signs, distress/urgency/safety procedures, phonetic alphabet, GMDSS system.
