Whenever there was even a slight breeze, they would sail, only resorting to using the motor when there was no wind. Each trip to the sea was unique and memorable. We have such a deep love for sailing that we aim to share this experience with anyone interested. “Our boat is the Bavaria Match Race 35, a 10.7-meter performance cruiser. It’s a sailing boat with a soul that promises a lifetime of experiences for groups up to 8. 😉 Ikigai sails gracefully in winds ranging from 5 to 15 knots. Even a light breeze can move us forward – sometimes we even sail faster than the wind itself.
We have both cruising and regatta sails. On our tours, we offer a premium experience of real sailing, powered by 5 professional regatta sails (each worth €2,000 to €7,000) and 4 versatile cruising sails, allowing us to adapt to every wind condition. Whether you’re looking to relax or feel the thrill of speed – we’ve got it covered. Yes, it’s a slightly expensive hobby… but it’s worth every moment.
The boat’s name, Ikigai, comes from the Japanese word meaning a reason for being – that special something that gives your life meaning. For us, sailing embodies that purpose. The act of setting sail, harnessing the wind, and navigating the sea offers freedom, joy, and a deep connection to nature. On Ikigai, we live in the moment and share unforgettable experiences with our guests.
In addition to performance, Ikigai is fully equipped for comfort and ease on the water. The boat features a bimini and sprayhood to protect from sun and wind, solar panels for sustainable power, a cockpit awning (tenda) and comfortable cushions for relaxing on deck. Below deck, you’ll find two cozy cabins, a well-equipped galley with a refrigerator, stove, and oven, and a bathroom with an electric toilet and holding tank. Whether you’re sailing for a few hours or a full day, you’ll feel at home on board.
The Bavaria Match 35 was designed by Doug Peterson and J&J Design and built by Bavaria Yachts. It’s a fast, regatta-ready vessel that also doubles as a stylish cruiser – ideal for sailors who want both performance and comfort.”

About Us – The Heart Behind Adrinaut Sailing
I’m Sanja, a branding manager by profession, but my true passion lies at sea. For years, I’ve led a local sailing club, organizing events with over 100 boats and 1,000 participants. Sailing is not just a hobby—it’s a lifestyle. Twelve years ago, I created the award-winning sailing simulation games Conquer Adriatic and MediterraNaut, celebrating maritime culture and education.
We don’t just sail for fun—we compete! Our boat and crew regularly race in regattas, often finishing 1st or 2nd in our group. Last season, we won the overall in ORC Istrian League – competing, a prestigious regional competition.

The Spirit behind our Story
We’re a family of six with salt in our veins and adventure in our souls. Even when our kids were little, we took them everywhere — from the sea to the mountains — and that spirit still shapes everything we do.
Every summer, we set sail together for weeks on the Adriatic, and in winter, we trade waves for snow, skiing in Austria, Italy, and recently, France. Sailing is our passion, but so is creating unforgettable experiences for others.
Both my husband and I are entrepreneurs, each running our own business, and today our older kids join in — helping during the summer season, studying during the year, and always bringing their energy to our family “team.” We know what it’s like to be travelers, so when we host, we try to offer the kind of experience we’d love to have ourselves: personal, local and authentic.
We’ve explored the world — from Bali to New York & New Orleans, Marrakech to Amsterdam and dozens of charming towns and cities across Europe (Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes, Paris, London, Geneva, Barcelona, Duesseldorf, Berlin, Munich, Nurnberg, Leeuwarden, Wien, Venice, Rim, Milano, Luxembourg, Gothenburg, Bratislava, Beograd, Skopje, Istanbul, Ljubljana, Corfu all Croatia, almost all Italy and Slovenia). And every time, it’s the realness of the experience that stays with us — the people, the stories, the unexpected moments.
